You can't be a fan of boxing and UFC

A lot of users on here say they enjoy watching both sports. What a load of B$. How can you watch two skilled pugilists throw awesome combinations in a ring and then enjoy two semi-skilled hacks throw sloppy punches and roll around in a cage?

The fact is if you enjoy boxing you cannot, by any stretch of the imagination, enjoy UFC. It does not compute. Someone who follows boxing is being diplomatic if he says he does. Everyone is going on about how good UFC 196 was, but it was only interesting because of the fighters involved and the upsets (Connor, Holly). From a purely fighting perspective, it was laughable! I've seen better fights from boxers on undercards in their first pro fights. And also, why are UFC fans even allowed to post on the Non-Stop Boxing forum?

The way I see it is MMA/UFC is basically street fighting with rules, I do like it, but i'm a boxing fan first and I do not throw boxing under the bus when MMA has a good event. I used to watch UFC in the 1990s when I was a kid, under 10 years old, but I also liked boxing and saw boxing as a lot tougher to compete in. Even as a child I saw this, boxing just looked more difficult and harder to succeed in. It was very obvious despite not having physically tried either sport. The blood on the faces of MMA fighters, the gassing early, did not tell me anything, it did not indicate to me that was tougher for some reason.

Boxing is a whole different thing, a much more sophisticated sport. Boxing really 'separates the weak from the obsolete'. In boxing, if you suck, you suck, you're a journeyman, no ifs and or buts, no glory days for you, no beating the #1 guy out of nowhere. In MMA you can suck and you can find glory.

If you can't guarantee yourself that you will be the #1 fighter in the UFC and get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars, do not join. Become a cop or firefighter. As some one posted purses yesterday, Tate earned $46k with a $46k winning bonus. Why even waste your time fighting there when you can just become a cop or firefighter and earn over $100k a year after some years of service without getting beat up for it? $90k for a 19-5 former champion and one of the most popular names in women's UFC is savage (Miesha Tate).

I can enjoy it but RARELY, I rewatched the McGregor fight and it's pretty shitty when you watch it again, live was another story. I do believe that at some point when the sport evolves I'll probably get behind it. The issue is, I don't think that time will come soon especially from the looks of it.

I'm not a fan of the company called the "UFC", but boxing and jiu jitsu are my two favorite sports. I'll watch boxing and I'll watch a show that mixes those arts in a big combat stew.

Was a fan of pride fighting. UFC is alright. But I just don't get the flavor of the month **** they keep trying to put on. Dana White seems like a used car salesman always talking to some dumbass who would just love that train horn on that F-350...

Yeah, loved all those "awesome combinations" in Mayweather-Pacquiao, Klitschko-Fury and Frampton-Quigg.

Diplomatically speaking, you can enjoy both. But I agree to the extent that comparing the two is like having skilled craftsmen versus savage brutes, oftentimes at least. Boxing should always be considered above MMA/UFC as an art form, as a craft. Although there are exceptions, as with everything.
