Yeah this was a VERY smart plan for Khan. Canelo is 10x more dangerous then Garcia or Brook.

You missed the point. If he fights Brook or Garcia and loses, a career payday against Canelo is no longer there. Here he gets paid the big money and doesn't kill those other two fights.
Plus he is not expected to win this one, he could KO's in round 1 and it doesn't change his position at all.
