    Jessie Vargas got lucky

Vargas was lucky on two counts:

    1. If it wasn't for the twisted ankle Ali wouldn't have easily been knocked down again

    2. The referee is a moron. Ali was not out on his feet and wasn't hurt badly. Another pu$$y referee pandering to medical boards. Whatever happened to referees like Steve "You're arite baby.." Smoger.

Not really. Vargas was working on that punch.
It's just perfectly timed and placed.

That fight needed to be stopped. Ali was not reacting well to the punches.

It was a perfectly fine stoppage. Ali was getting his brains bashed in and not doing anything about it.

Vargas fought a good fight and won.
Ali was in deep waters, can't believe he a -300 fav.
They could rematch and Vargas would win, so it wasn't luck.

I have to disagree with you. Ali is just not strong enough or gutsy enough to stay with the tough Vargas who has seemingly increased his ability to hurt and KO guys quit a bit. I think Vargas is on the way up and Ali doesn't have what it takes to be a good champion. I think the better fighter won and would win again any time they fought. He made his own luck by being tougher, gamer and better.
