Marathon three-hour training sessions, basically in a sauna, taxed the body as far as it was likely to go, regardless of who he was set to fight.

I sincerely doubt that there's a 'Mayweather Curse' but maybe, just maybe, "Fate" recognizes a man who never cut things short.

In every instance of the "Mayweather Curse", the victim was caught, having bought into their own hype, unprepared for the bout or underestimating an opponent; no matter how good you believe him to be, in the latest example of things going bad, McGregor had no business going up 25lbs to take on a guy who'd shown top-level ability at 155/170.

Floyd, assuming he stays retired, will stand the test of time as a combat fighter, who so respected his sport with his maniacal dedication to it, that he was able to stay dominant in his chosen sport for almost 20 years, never taking a blemish, only being in a handful of truly dicey fights, against an opponent's resume that stacks up pretty well against history.
The truth of the matter is that people out there would die a tortured soul if they had to live with Floyd being the best athlete of this generation. These folks call no other boxers out but they know Floyd's name keeps money around. The world is propping them up for greatness and when they fall off, Floyd is still there. This won't be the last time Dana has his folks bring Floyd's name up.

For a while it will (as the UFC doesn't have that star near Floyd's size to push, male or female).

With time, attitudes against Floyd will turn (though folks won't get to see Floyd get demolished, his last three years of press work have been largely positive and the early signs of Floyd as a fight promoter are also pretty good; keep away from controversy, and flash the big smile during Mayweather Promotions' press work).

That's what happens when you don't cherry pick like Mayweather did for most of his career.

It's prophecied that the only way to break the curse on everyone is to take his undefeatedness. IF someone can beat him the curse will be broken.

Add Khan to that list. He started with all this Mayweather **** right before the Garcia fight and then got knocked the *** out. Seems like these fools get obsessed with Mayweather and it affects them in the gym and during the fight. Mayweather is really like 56-0 if you count collateral damage.

At what point will guys stop calling Floyd out? he's retired and almost 40. He's going to be retired and 50 and people will still be calling his name out at this rate.

Anyway, i said in other threads, people mentioning Floyd is a way to gain support. If you're anti-Floyd, the public will be on your side. That's all it is. Mentioning him is a cheap way to win some fans.
