Soon to come - Roach says "Margarito is the perfect opponent for Cotto. It will be a tough fight, Margarito has two working knees and won't be drained."

So weird seeing him hurt like that when you think of the bombs he used to be able to absorb.

All he had was stamina. They had a game plan to jab and it went out of the window and he started to throw a lot of punches because Paez just stood in front of him.

For Paez's credit he took a lot of those punches and was able to throw combos of his own in certain spots.

Paez was the naturally smaller taylor made fighter for Margo and he could not shine with him. I doubt Margo will get any better than what he showed last night

Damn, tony getting knocked down by guys like paez jr? His once solid iron chin is now nothing but a hollow rusted shell of what it once was. Sad.

If i am cotto i am licking my chops and call margos team right now. Offer him 500k at a 152 catchweight and send him back on retirement. This cotto version with roach dismantles margarito.

A smart promoter would keep him in Mexico, against marginal, somewhat known Mexican or other Latino opposition, for maybe a half dozen or so fights. Then retire. If he's really having trouble fighting now, that should be the top goal, and no more. That way he can take in some decent cash to pad the retirement account. That is, unless he's pulled an Arreola and is broke.

Maybe the writer did not watch the fight. It was very entertaining and Margarito, even though he stood up a little dizzy from the canvas, still never hugged and kept fighting. Paez is atough cookie, donīt lat his record fool you, and was almost koed in the last round and hugged and ran a bit which is a no-no in Mexico and cost him the fight. Margarito-paez was much better than Mayweather-Paquiao.
