Ali is a solid counter puncher but his defense is much too leaky and he can't seem to read his opponents too well. A lot of times he would throw combinations in a straight line and finished his combos even if they weren't on target.

Ali also has a hitch in his offense. Vargas was timing it and throwing first when Ali was just about to jab. He needs to correct that. He would dip his shoulder every time. Any fighter who times him with lead right hands would slaughter him.
