I respect what you're saying but for me it comes down to a personal lesson. I used to be all about speed and my boxing coach warned that some guys were going to walk through my jab and smother me. To bring this home, he had me spar with brawlers who busted me up pretty good. When I see Loma I see a guy who isn't generating power from the floor up and the Salido fight is an example of how not applying power can get you in trouble. Look at how Danny Garcia ate numerous punches in order to find that left hook against Kahn. It's the same principle. If the punch doesn't stun the guy, he's going to be firing back. Loma's style hasn't changed since Salido. He's still emphasizing speed, mobility, and accuracy at the cost of strength. It's what he knows and it's already brought him far but it's better suited for the am's than pro. I know that a guy like Walters is going to walk up and take his head because of the way styles make fights.
I have nothing against Loma and I actually want to see him do well! I absolutely love watching his choice of combinations. He's quite sharp at reading his opponent's body language and launching into a combo that play's off of his opponent's slightest movements. Something that only great boxers have.
