Yea, that's exactly what I'm thinking. If he tries to headlock or monkey around he's going to get thumped hard because he just doesn't have the mass to pull it off on Canelo. Even true 154lbers haven't been able to bully him.

Khan 3 weeks ago 128 punches in 17 seconds
Maybe so but that was then, capturing a scene today is much easier with the advanced technology. Plus Khan isnt the fastest guy in boxing.

          khan heavy

because he thinks added bulk will help when canelo rehydrates to be 170-190 - it will just slow him down and he has a weak nervous system anyway - he will be knocked out in 2-3 rounds.

Been thinking of this aspect of the fight, because Khan does know how to clinch and make it a mess... like Collazo. Even if he isn't the stronger guy, I wonder if would still have an advantage trying to do that. He's not known as a physical fighter but he does clinch, push down on the head, push off to get space etc. Can't think of many fights were Canelo has to deal with someone clinching, outside of the small clip of the Miguel Vasquez rematch. IDk these pictures aren't that promising

Someone must have told him the best way to fix his chin was to get more of them.

Khan looks like hes one of those dudes that can never place weight properly. My cousins like that. When he gains weight he looks fat, when he loses he looks anorexic but he can never look normal.

Khan has shown quality speed in the past, but as to the video, is he throwing punches or doing a dance move? Because if those punches are what he plans to use against Canelo, Khan's in trouble. As you know, there's more to a punch than speed. The technique used by Khan in the video pretty much puts those punches on the level of slaps.

I agree that Khan's best chance is to use his speed to overwhelm Canelo and get out of the way. But, he needs to get Canelo's respect, too. He can't just slap him, or otherwise Canelo will run through him eventually. It's a complicated task, due to Canelo's size advantage. I just can't see a way for Khan to do it without getting caught.

I bet that's what Oscar's counting on; it doesn't matter what, if any, success Khan has in the early rounds. No matter what, eventually, Canelo will land, and the punishment will accumulate to the point it's too much for Khan to handle.

I suspect they're using this fight as a tune-up for Mayweather. It's the only fight that would save Canelo's reputation from too much harm, because they're going to duck GGG.

Funny thing is, for all the bashing, I believe Cotto would've actually fought GGG this year. Sure, he would've tried to arrange a Mayweather fight first, but not for the same reasons Oscar is going to arrange Canelo vs Mayweather. In Cotto's case, he views Mayweather as the ultimate victory prize. Oscar is simply worried that GGG will overwhelm Canelo, possibly ruining his business prospects.

GGG needs to hurry up with that Hopkins fight or make sacrifices to lure Froch out of retirement. Otherwise, he'll spend another year fighting nobodies.
