This is a sparring match. Thompson is 44 and got beat by Malik Scott ffs. Ortiz is the most skilled HW out there. My only hope is that he doesn't beat Tony so bad he scares off the other HW's. Ortiz is just as seasoned as Thompson. Second rd TKO

The real fight is on the undercard. Vargas-Ali.

Even if Ortiz looks like ish hes still not gonna get any of the big names...the best rarely fight each other, sadly thats the state of the sport now.

Hopefully the WBA is serious and will call a mandatory with the winner of the Fury-Wlad rematch. Honestly I'd rather see Fury-Ortiz right now than a Fury-Wlad rematch.

The only fighter to stop Jennings. I'm not saying Jennings is a world beater but he stood in there with Wlad for 12 rds. Ortiz was impressive against Jennings. Nobody is calling him out. Instead they're calling out fighters who are vulnerable like Martin, Wilder, Fury, Joshua. I guarantee Fury will duck him for the WBA if he wins his rematch with Wlad.

I'm for sure of the opinion Ortiz is being crowned as the next big thing off of showing far too little thus far so I'm pretty curious about how a more proven entity like Thompson fairs against Ortiz. Jennings resume was pretty thin if we are being honest so I thought that outcome was overblown. Thompson has had many notable fights & Ortiz blowing Thompson out will say a lot to me as iirc Klitschko is the only cat to have taken him out.

That said Thompson losing to Malik Scott recently will mean that it won't mean as much if Ortiz wins impressively as it might have meant previous to that Scott L, but whatever its a important fight for Ortiz to show that he's legit cuz I personally believe that to be under question still

Jennings stepped up to every challenge he was given. He is/was a raw talent. Szpilka was supposed to be his biggest challenge and Jennings won that fight. Perez was supposed to be the one to finally expose Jennings. Perez with his amateur background. Had seen different styles. Even beat Ortiz in the amateurs. Jennings handled that test well. Then onto Klitschko. Nobody expected him to win but we also didn't expect him to go the distance and make Wlad look unimpressive. He stepped into the ring with Ortiz and Luis made him look like an amateur. Made adjustments to any and everything Jennings was doing. It was a very impressive win imo.

Haha Thompson's southpaw stance is supposed to make him tougher to fight? Maybe if he was 34, not 44. I like Tony for the sole reason he had the guts to step in the ring with this animal Ortiz, but Thompson is getting KTFO regardless of stance.
