The UFC may not be big enough to contain Conor McGregor in the future, as the Dublin fighter said he is open to a boxing match against undefeated champion Floyd Mayweather.
Days before he takes on Nate Diaz at welterweight in Las Vegas, the UFC champion sat down with Gareth Davies for BT Sport.
Errybody looking to cash in on Mayweather's **** name.......ahahhahahaha too funny..........even funnier is that May don't get a cut of nothin and he is helping them promote all their events................
Still I think you underestimate what a man with an iron will and heart is capable off, you look at Froch, limited capacity, will pull through AT EVERY LEVEL. I believe McGregor, loses basicly every round to Floyd, but if you put him a couple of levels down, he'd be able to compete. I don't see the reason to underestimate Conor McGregor, becaus he's shown himslef capable of pulling counters and overall showing greater strength in boxing than his surpassers.
You do realize McGregor has little boxing acumen....none on the pro level...he'd get thoroughly thrashed. I've been in combat sports my whole life from tae kwon do, boxing, and wrestling. Any time some one with no elite boxing experience stepped in that ring, they got their azz handed to them...seen it a million times. The gym I trained in had MMA and Boxing. The MMA guys learned hard lessons in knuckle Up/LA fitness in Atlanta....stay in your lane...you're not a boxer and have no idea all the intricacies either. Im no Mayweather but sparring MMA guys in a boxing environment was like taking candy from a baby. People who have never been in the ring or octagon in their lives dont realize how hard the transition is...I started out in martial arts....real martial arts....not that Jack of all trades, master of nothing MMA crap....Tae Kwon DO....did wrestling in high school....then did boxing in my 20s....the footwork, stance, blocking techniques, everything is different
McGregor would get his ass handed to him. UFC "strikers" look no different than novice on the street. Conor was a decent regional am as a kid but this is pro boxing were talking about.....Hell Devin Haney would kick his arse, Errol Spence.....he is just using floyd's name for publicity.
make a point or shut the phuck up. Maybe if you watched MMA or even glanced at the odds you would realize the variance is several magnitudes higher for KO's.
I'm on the McGregor hype wagon as far as MMA goes, but let's be honest here. A basic, middle of the pack pro boxer who has never had a world title shot would knock him out twitching. Floyd would so comprehensively embarrass him it's not worth the time to have even written this paragraph.
with 4 oz gloves anyone can be knocked out easily. HOF or not.
having sparred with MMA gloves and boxing gloves it really makes no difference except on defense. the problem is most MMA fighters dont even know how to friggin parry punches, move their heads, roll, slide or dip from shots.....its called self defense.
Actually from personal experience, the Boxing gloves hurt more.....its easier to block but when you get hit clean its like a mini brick
gloves are made to protect your hands... not the other persons face.
If you put a so called striker in with a boxer with either size glove on the boxer will have the advantage. Better punching technique and defense.
McGregor would get embarrassed...he needs to stay in his lane and stop name dropping to promote his fight

They hurt more. Meaning you're still awake and not KO'd stiff. Also defense plays a role in being KO'd. You just said the 4 oz gloves change the defense.

meaning you have to block more hands against your face... elbow up per say...Ive never been knocked out or dropped but from experience. Boxing gloves hurt more....power equals weight and velocity....boxing gloves are harder, heavier and boxers have better technique, meaning more power
boxing gloves cover more area, more room to block....sadly most MMA guys have no boxing back ground and arent prepared to see or take shots....they look really amatuerish and thats why McGregor stands out in the MMA community. He actually boxed.
What decent boxer you know that jumps head first like Aldo? Quality of opposition as far as boxing skills suck in the UFC
MMA guys have crap defense so thats why soon as they get hit clean once, the fight is over....they are not trained well at anticipating punches, parrying or slipping....most are stiff, no flexibilty and porous technique...thats a ko weighting happen.

Punching through the guard is a lot easier with 4 oz gloves. That alone increases KO's.
