No, he was a novice level amateur who never competed anywhere near a national level. If he was good enough to compete at that level, the likelihood of him ever switching over to MMA would have been incredibly slim.

Most UFC fights aren't Boxing or Kickboxing based fighters. So their striking is far from the prettiest. Ronda is a Judo based MMA fighter. Grappling. She started MMA and got in love with boxing. Tried to out box holly instead of using her grappling and got destroyed. That'll happen to almost anyone who abandons their strength and fights their opponents fight. Conor is a boxing and karate fighter. So he can box better than most UFC fighters but his grappling is suspect. He won't beat Floyd though. Lol He will just do it for the money. And just so u know, Dana has no control over McGregor. I see that relationship being strained real soon cuz Conor is bringing in good money and he wants most of it.

Don't know why people keep making lame excuses for Ronda's loss. I saw Ronda trying to take down Holly Holmes at least three times and Holly simply slipped out of Ronda's grappling attempts, the third time Holly actually reversed the whole thing and took Ronda down.

Ronda was outclassed in all areas in that fight, including her own. This whole 'she shouldn't have tried to box' nonsense is just a lame excuse. She tried her grappling tactics and they failed just as spectacularly as all her other skills did.

Well being from Ireland of course Il support McGregor, he has boxed before and was boxer before mma.....
But as a boxing man id have to agree at what my trainer says...

hmm ive seen several articles relating Conor to boxing titles and claiming he was at the top of Irelands boxing ranks. I think there is even a pic of a trophy or plague of his, thats national level. Could be wrong tho.
