    >>>155 = 164

A catchweight is a catchweight, regardless of who holds a belt in whatever division. If you're going to demand a catchweight then you have no recourse to refuse a catchweight fight when someone who has more leverage than you demands one.

It's beyond hypocritical forGolovkin to ask Ward for a 164lb catchweight in one breath only to turn around and refuse to fight Alvarez @ 155lbs. Anyone who would justify this type of hypocrisy only proves themselves to be a fanboi...

I ****ing hate catchweights. Canelo wanting to drag GGG down to 155 or GGG trying to drag Ward down to 164 are both bull****. That said. If a middleweight champion asking another middleweight champion for a catchweight is the same thing as a guy asking for a catchweight of a guy a division above him. I don't even know what to say.

      GGG Is Just Scared.

      and this is why...

      • He was willing to move up a full weight division to fight Chavez or Froch because he BELIEVED he would win, but he would not move up that same amount to face Ward cause he DOESN'T BELIEVE he can win.
      • Hes willing to move up a full weight class to face Bernard Hopkins cause he BELIEVES he will win.
      • He was willing for a catchweight against Rosado, you know why? he BELIEVED he would win, but he would not face Canelo at a catchweight because he does not BELIEVE he will win.
      • He was willing to drop a full weight class to face Pacquaio or Mayweather cause he BELIEVES he would win

You see the pattern, its clear as day! GGG has absolutely no issue fighting at catchweights or even jumping full weight classes or dropping full weight classes if he BELIEVES he can win, its when he DOESN'T BELIEVE he can win is when he has an issue against it.

Gabriel Rosado says he never asked for a catchweight to face middleweight titlist Gennady Golovkin, and has officially rejected a maximum weight of 158 pounds to fight at the full 160-pound weight limit.

Promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions, who handle IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs), says a fight can certainly be worked out with WBA super middleweight king Andre Ward (28-0, 15 KOs). But the deal would have to be under Golovkin's terms and not dictated by Ward. Loeffler feels Golovkin has surpassed Ward as a ticket seller and in terms of name recognition - making GGG the A-side of the negotiations.

It isn't helped that they claimed he'd go down to 154 to fight anybody...

Still, wish he wasn't so avoided (those two fights with ward and canelo aside)

No, it isn't and it has nothing to do with being a fanboy. Your inability to understand that they aren't the same thing says more about you than anything. Having a catch weight fight between two guys in different divisions is not the same as a catchweight between two champions in the same division. I don't understand how you can't see that. Golovkin should be called out for agreeing to fight Froch and Chavez at 168 but asking Ward for 164. That's the issue there. That has no bearing on the bull**** Canelo is doing, it's not the same. The typical Brendan Dassey brigade of NSB is too slow to understand that though.

                Pretty much this.

I don't get how this is so hard to understand for some of you.

                1.) MANDATORY
                2.) SAME WEIGHTCLASS
                3.) 155... need I say more?

GGG wanted a CW for Ward as they were intended to be used (2 fighters from different divisions meeting somewhere in the middle - 164 is middle).

Canelo wants to game the system like Floyd (or worse). GGG has been Canelo's MANDATORY in the SAME weight division, and he basically just wants to defend the 160 "lineal" belt at 154 + 1lb.. beating up a bunch of blown-up welterweights with "names"... SMH

Imagine the shitstorm if GGG demanded 161 for Ward..

Why is it hypocritical? GGG would easily be the A-side to Andre Ward at the negotiating table. Besides, GGG would be moving up to fight Ward. Why should anyone expect him to defend his claim to the middleweight crown 5 pounds below the limit against a guy who has no problem carrying 160 lbs.?

Lil G had no problem with 168 until Ward wanted to fight. At least Canelo isn't trying to fight other guys at a higher weight while asking for a CW only for Lil G, like little G did with Ward.
