Oscar thought he was going to be fighting Miguel Cotto after the Floyd rematch fell through. Cotto lost to Margacheato that summer and Oscar wanted nothing to do with him even after Antonio called him out after the Cotto win. He ended up taking the Pac fight at a weight he hadn't fought at in almost a decade and it came back to bite him in the ass.

Yea but you were old (as far as boxing years). Canelo is in his mid 20's and coming into his prime. And Amir is a great boxer, but he's no Pac. I believe we'll see when Canelo starts connecting. This is a 5 or 6 round fight.

The only comparison between DLH vs Pac and Canelo vs Khan is that its a bigger guy vs a smaller guy.

Canelo is a better fighter than DLH was in 2008.
Khan is nowhere near the fighter Manny was in 2008.
Also Canelo will be weighing in at 155 lbs and will weigh around 170 on fight night. Not a drained and emaciated 145 lbs at weigh in and 147 lbs on fight night.

Canelo is the only thing keeping the GBP boat afloat. If Oscar felt Khan was a genuine threat we wouldn't be talking about this fight.
