I don't hold it against Canelo, but I just wish they would be honest about it. There are better money fights for him and they are going to pursue them...why lost his momentum in getting sparked out? The odds of him getting wrecked are extremely high, rebuilding that would take a ton of work. Getting a Cotto ppv was good payday and the wbc belt was just extra icing..doubt he actually cares about the belt itself. I actually respect boxers who say "listen it's about the dollars" or "I got a family to feed", stop beating around the bush and lying. If fighting Amir doesn't flop this fight will never happen, plain and simple. Gang of dudes from 147 to 160 who would move up or down for that kind of pay to face him.

So back in Oct/Nov what exactly did K2 and GBP discuss? At the time they stated that they'd each take a fight in the Spring with a meeting in Fall 2016. Now this crap?

I honestly think it can wait until Golovkin fights a named opponent. Be it Lara or (as sad as this is) Hopkins. While the fight makes sense for hardcore fans right now, for the promoters to really cash-in there needs to be some build-up. As ****** as Canelo-Kahn is, there is a ton of interest already. Genady doesn't have any momentum and is the weak side in the marketing scheme here. Give him someone that will fully introduce him to casuals and convince them to fork over PPV money.

I'll never understand why fans are concerned with promoters cashing in. There is no need to wait on this fight. BOTH fighters are "Named" fighters. This is the biggest fight in the sport to make only ahead of Ward-Kovalev. The argument that GGG needs to fight name to get a big fight died in 2014. He IS the name now. They scared.

Makes sense - except why does Canelo/GBP waste everyone's time? This is pure bull**** deception and wasting everyone's time - who knows, if Cotto and Canelo had both said there was no way they'd fight Golovkin then we might have gotten some more interesting fights with Golovkin by now - instead of K2 spinning their wheels waiting on Canelo they might have hthrown more money at Jacobs or gone after Badou jack or DeGale - just a massive waste of everyone's time while meanwhile keeping Canelo looking sweet.

With how limited HBO has become, i don't think Lara will ever be allowed to fight on HBO, unless he takes a real low amount of money.
