Wilder vs Povetkin - Who wins and how?

Interested to see what people think of this one. Wilder fans seem to think the same way as Joshua fans after seeing a long list of opponents Ko'd and, looking at the size and reach advantage for Wilder, it should be an easy win...

I would counter this by saying Wilder has never faced an opponent on Povetkins level, with his experience, and has never fought away from home in a big fight before or under serious pressure...the weight of expectation will be huge in the build-up Imo. Some fighters thrive and some crumble

Wilder was dropped by someone who couldn't even be classed as a journeyman. Think his name was Harold Sconiers or something. This is where the whole question of his chin comes from.

There's a gif floating around this forum somewhere, I've seen it. Cba finding it. A quick search verifies my claim though:

I used to think Povetkin was gonna win, but now I'm not so sure.

Wilder's legs are looking pretty beast these days.

That's obviously been airbrushed. I snapped Wilders legs while he was walking to his car the other day

Too close to call. If Wilder comes in with the focus he had vs Stiverne, he takes this. If he pulls the stuff we've seen him do against lower opponents he'll get KO'd. I get the impression that he may be one of these guys that fights to the level of his opposition.

I think Povetkin will punish him for mistakes which Stiverne was unable to do. Povetkin is just better in every way, way more aggressive and can clean you out with 1 punch inside or medium distance so Wilder will need to box far better in this one. I've never seen him being very good defensively on the inside so he will need to find a way to nullify Povetkins inside game. He's not going to be able to dance around Povetkin and make him miss for 12 rounds while landing enough to keep him off. I've also noticed in Wilders last 3 fights he has started slow and makes most of his mistakes early in the fight, it's like he gets better as he figures out your style or something. Povetkin is at his most dangerous early and it's why I think he'll Ko Wilder in the first 4 rounds. Can't wait for this one though and hope I'm wrong
