Comments Thread For: The Heavyweight Division: Out With The Old?

By Cliff Rold - Tyson Fury was the biggest domino to fall. It was only one of many in one of boxing's most intriguing developments. Two fights on tap this Saturday could tell us something about just how immediate the trend of new at heavyweight really is.

No matter how one feels about the quality of the Klitschko era, there is no denying that most of the last decade in boxing's flagship class has been lacking.

Geez, your picking the guy to pieces. He didn't exactly over hype Browne.. saying chagaev was the favourite. Upsets do happen in this sport.

In the case of Ortiz and Browne, it's out with the old and in with the slightly less old.

Yeah, the fact that Ruslan is expected to win says much about Brownes reputation.

The man is obviously a big fish in a veeery small pond. Feed him to any fighter of the top 20 and the results would be horrific.

30 years on, the HW division needs a new Kid Dynamite.

Ortiz as of right now seems to be the man at the top. Once he gets his big shot and hopefully soon, he should prove where he stands. I dont think Fury is athletic enough to hold of most of these guys, even the limited Wilder would give big problems just because of natural talent. As a Wlad fan I hope he wins the rematch and retires, but also I really dont wanna see all the belts scattered either.
