Instead of making GGG fight at 155lbs, since theyre both comfortable at 160lbs at the weigh in, what exactly is the problem here?
Is it just a move to completely drain GGG?
Does it prove that Canelo is infact a tiny MW if he can even reach as low as 155lbs in the first place? People act like Khan is fighting some huge middleweight. No huge MW would be able to drain themselves to 155lbs in the first place.

Maidana entered the ring at 165+ while fighting at 147.

Crawford weighed 135 against Gamboa, but entered the ring at 152...

Danny Garcia weighed in at 143, but was 157 on fight night.

Spence recently was 162 on fight night.

Thurman weighed 147, but was 162 on fight night.

    -----------------------------

It's a common thing, yet it seems to only be Canelo that gets brought up.

reason Canelo is gets brought up as much as he is is because he holds belt at the 160 lbs limit and isn't willing to fight at it. on top of that he has a mandatory who he refuses to fight who has a lot of hype behind him. i don't know about the others though. Are they holding belts at higher weights that they don't fight at?

I'd buy that reason if it wasn't for the fact that people complained about it long before he won the MW belt.

There's threads constantly about how Canelo weighs 170 on fight night, yet nobody mentions those other guys. Crawford gains 15lbs overnight at a much lower weight yet it goes without mention, same with Rios and many others.

Because fighters in their 20s like to take advantage of their pliable frames to make the smallest weights possible. Everyone is doing it.

But if he is going to fight at 155 and insist on cutting this much weight, I think he ought to just make 154 and drop the MW title all together. There are plenty of good 154lbers for him to fight.

Canelo was 172 vs Trout years ago, and 174 vs Angulo. When you blow up 20lbs you don't get to use "too small for the weight" excuse, triple so if you're holding the lineal belt in that division

Canelo is a full middleweight, rehydrates over 170-175, heavier than Golovkin and few other middleweights on fight night... He can't even make 154 who is already a catchweight division, 155 is a disgrace, it's either 154 or you go to 160, biggest joke is also the fact that he has the Lineal WBC MW belt... He's not fighting legit middleweights at 160 because he's protected, the face of boxing and the biggest cash cow right now, GBP wants to cash as much as they can with him, they know what can happen against not only GGG but others at 160...
