It's impossible to say with any confidence if Wlad has truly slipped until he fights someone who isn't Tyson Fury. His minor struggles against Jennings are irrelevant for two reasons. One, Wlad didn't start to have problems with Jennings until the ref began aggressively enforcing the rules preventing him from further clinching. Two, Jennings is a very decent opponent, else why are people making such a song and dance about Ortiz beating him? Lord knows Ortiz doesn't have anyone else on his resume.

If Wlad starts losing to fighters he would have handled with ease then it's a fairly good sign that, yes, he has in fact slipped. But that can't be determined on one poor result against an undefeated fighter whose ceiling has yet to be determined. There simply isn't enough raw data there. Don't forget that people were claiming B-Hop was shot when Joe beat him and that Kelly Pavlik would destroy him. That all looks very silly now. Until we see the actual results in the ring then nothing else matters.

I think the Klitschko performance was more to do with the mental side than any physical decline or age factor. He was fit, on his toes and looked focused for the full 12 rounds but it was clear he didn't know what to do. Jab wasn't landing and Fury was always out of range, feinting and using loads of lateral movement, both ways, while throwing the occasional shot from nowhere. Unless you have boxed at that level and shared a ring with someone like Fury it's impossible to know what it's like. It's easy for people to say he should go inside and start swinging but he would be countered and we all know Fury is better inside than Wlad who never goes there without clinching automatically. Fury outboxed him from distance but he will butcher him on the inside if Klitschko tries that in the next fight.
