Comments Thread For: Warren: Frampton/Quigg Winner Must Not Avoid Rigondeaux

CARL FRAMPTON against Scott Quigg could be a cracking fight tonight.

But whoever comes out on top of the IBF and WBA super-bantamweight unification scrap should remember the real star in the division.

The winner will only be keeping the titles warm for Guillermo Rigondeaux, the undefeated Cuban sensation who fights Jazza ****ens in Liverpool on March 12.

unfortunately i still don't think it will happen. both of them are apparently struggling at the weight, and santa cruz now seems to have an eye on the winner. mcguigan nor gallagher is going to go out of their way to take such a risk against rigo with a bigger, more winnable fight awaiting them at a weight which may be more comfortable

Pretty much this. Also, they might try to face Rigo @126 which I don't see Rigo balking at.

Lol. They're not fighting Rigondeaux. They will have no public pressure and they have better options.

rigondeaux should be more concerned with the ceja-ruiz fight tonight. he might actually be able to get the winner of that one in the ring with him

but 122 will be pretty barren once frampton and quigg leave, so he should seriously consider moving up (or down) this year. yamanaka at 118 is regarded as a top pound-for-pound fighter by some publications (although i strongly disagree), so if rigo managed to get a win over him in japan his resume would look pretty good

The master , the best , rigondeaux is waiting , is the mandatory .... But , but , they will duck him , for sure .

Leo panticruz , the Mexican traitor , who sold de la Hoya contract not to fight him , mares , Montiel , Kiki Martinez , quigg and frampton , have all ducked the master , the genius ..

Hit and not be hit ; you can not hit what you don't see .

I'll give the Brits more credit than that i doubt the winner will vacate. I think Rigondeaux by going over there and showing he is willing to fight any of them in their backyard has put them in a position where not fighting him next is just admitting he is their daddy. He is no longer this mythical guy across the pond he is proving he is down to come to their house and fight them in it that's not something you can ignore.

                  This is clearly his intention

Exactly. This is the identical situation to the Canelo/Cotto/GGG situation. Well, exact for the fact that Frampton, Quigg, and Rigondeaux are are natural jr featherweights. Where Canelo and Cotto are jr middleweights that were fighting for a bogus belt won through boxing politricks. Ironically, the ass clowns around here somehow rationalize that the world will end if Canelo-GGG doesn't happen. But doesn't feel there's a need for the winner of today's eliminator to challenge the champion of the division.
