I personally don't watch or care enough to be in the know, but I'm still curious. Are catchweights common in UFC? Do they even exist, period?

Or when they are used, are they used in the most efficient and fair manner possible?

I personally recommend you should watch MMA tbh. I've defended boxing for eons and I'll always say boxing is the better sport but admittedly MMA is the superior product.

Regarding catchweights, i can't think of one at the top of my head since it's almost always at the full weight class
