Well, if you were a bit smarter you'd put two and two together and realize he's at the tail end of his career and doesn't want to waste his last fight(s) on a guy like Crawford. Too much risk with little reward. He wants big names, that's why Cotto's name keeps coming up.

It's no wonder he won't even consider taking on Crawford or anyone of that nature. He wants to bank off the slow plodders like Rios and Alvarado.
He fought Pac and Bradley after he fought Floyd dumass, both of which are in the 'slick' category.

Selective memory like yours is the bane of humanity, an embarassment even cause it makes mankind seem like the dummest creature walking on planet earth.

This is nothing new. It used to be everyone's favorite argument against Pac, then Pac fans turned it on Mayweather, only back then they just went ahead and said they were avoiding black fighters.

They're both basically saying, "why didn't Pac/Floyd fight a young black guy?"

Know what kills your argument? He fought Floyd after he lost to Freddie Norwood.

True and he only fought Bradley because he thought he was ruined by the Provodnikov war. After that he was probably licking his lips thinking he could lure Bradley into traps and get his 5th division title by KO. Bradley isn't a 'slick' fighter in general i guess but before the Provo fight he weren't interested in Bradley.

Bradley fought like a poor mans Floyd and got the win.

either way, Marquez is a legend and fought a lot of great fighters. Fast, good jab and backwards movement is a nightmare for his style.

It's crazy. They say Floyd avoided prime, young, slick, black fighters, then the first name that always comes up is Paul Williams.

The only thing that was slick about him was his ride.
