That's NOT what I want to see.

When even Lennox Lewis, the guy who was about to be Roy Jones' superfight, is telling you to hang it up....it's time.

    No.

Roy is hard-headed. A stubborn Mfer. I remember his "incident" with Fat Joe (). This guys mindset is something else.

If people keep telling him to stop, begging him to hang it up and treating him like some OAP who can't take care of himself, he'll continue to fight to prove a point, not to himself, but to all of you who doubt.

    Let him fight.

None of the guys you mentioned sustained their injuries because they were in the sport for too long. Watson and Mclellan were in their 20's. Like I said boxing is brutal no matter what age. If you really care so much about the well being of others, you shouldn't be watching in the first place. Roy is just making money doing what he loves. It gets tiring hearing people who try to pity him and all that self righteous crap. Let the man do his thing.

Exactly. Either you're a fighter or not. Too many pu$$ies in boxing nowadays who want it easy and want to pretend that it's not about violence.

My point is not about staying in too long, my point is about the increased risk of injury from damage taken when you get hit, and what can happen. Jones was at one point so elusive it was like he wasn't really there, so he wasn't taking major damage. To see him take pot shots from Lebedev, as slow as that guy is, he's just adding to danger unnecessarily.

It's not self righteous man. If you watched Ali/Holmes and weren't emotionally affected by that, I don't even know. That's what I see with Jones - another Ali about to be physically impaired for life.

DO you seriously want that for this man that's entertained us for decades? Seriously?

LOL and what point is that? roy is getting brutally knocked out left and right. if roy doesn't want to retire on his own that's where the commissions step in to protect boxers from themselves they need to do their job roy is on a suicide mission.

Commission step in and do what? Revoke his license? You think that will stop him? If Roy keeps hearing people treat him as some type of charity case, brittle old man, he'll continue to try and prove the doubters wrong.

Roy has ALWAYS been like this. Let him fight.
Stop giving him the unnecessary attention, stop giving him "reasons" in his own mind to keep going and he'll stop.

I get what you're saying but this is a dangerous ***in sport. Tragedy can strike at any moment for any fighter. Roy has placed himself in danger every single time he's entered the ring, so has every other fighter. If you're so concerned about safety, then you should be pushing for a ban on the sport.

No I don't want to see Roy end up like Ali, but it's a very real possibility for every fighter. I'm just someone who believes in letting people live their own lives, and it gets annoying hearing people talk about Roy like he's a child who needs to be told what to do. I respect how you feel though.

This is a good way to say "I'm new to the sport." Talk about Roy Jones retiring. Now. In 2016. 2008. 2011. To say it now is just embarrassing. But again. Welcome to the sport guys.
