Arum's bluffing though. He's using the media to get the fans on his side in order to draw as much money from the other side as possible. Same dog and pony show as before. Old man, old tricks.
I tend to agree. Although I suspect its a game of chicken more than a bluff. If push came to shove Arum is gonna do what he has to do up to & including making a deal with Showtime.

That said I don't for the life of me believe HBO isn't interested in Crawford vs Postol, which is probably one of the most competitive on paper #1 vs #2 fights in boxing right now + the best fight to make at 140 or Loma vs Walters. I suspect the problem is those fights have been regulated to a small window in the late 2nd qtr or 3rd qtr of the year with HBO's current schedule & plans for the end of the year + I'm sure with their current schedule + intended schedule there isn't a ton of money to throw at Crawford/Postol/Loma/Walters like they might want or deserve.

Why would Showtime dig into their pocket to air anything from Top Rank, at a premium price, after Arum has spent all of that time ****ting on them?

        Arum ****ed himself, simply put.
Sorry man. Didn't know you were so emotionally invested in showtime. Lol at the fights i highlighted. They are not quality fights your just defending whatever your daddy haymon does. also the wilder-povetkin fight might not even happen. At this point showtime better do what Arum says. Cause i think Arum is just flexing but either way if Chavez (what was one of boxing biggest stars) does less with ratings at showtime than he did with HBO then imagine what walters or loma does who are less known at showtime

Why wouldn't HBO want Loma vs. Walters? That's better than Crawford vs. Lundy, and they're doing that this weekend! Maybe that meeting with Moonves (CBS) for Mayweather vs. Pacquiao will have a ripple effect? TR and GBP need to join Haymon in competing for premium fights on non-subscription channels. That would be great for us all!!!

steveucnlive lol - Seriously tho, I heard SHO initiated. Espinoza puts on good face but desperate to replace reliance on Haymon.

steveucnlive hah... Arum cagey operator tho. If it was real, maybe he wouldn't be saying anything. As The World Turns....

HBO has money for Golovkin vs Wade but not for Lomachenko vs Walters.

Don't see it happening. I remember him and GB were supposed to be working together, didn't happen and they're both on HBO. Why out of nowhere would he be working with SHO after poisoning that well so badly?

This is a puzzling comment by Peter Nelson on Walters/Lomachenko -

Mitch Abramson: Bob Arum recently made a commotion about not being able to land a date on HBO for a doubleheader involving featherweight titleholder Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Nicholas Walters in one fight and junior welterweight titlist Viktor Postol in another. Do you not like what he’s offering?

Peter Nelson: There are a lot of great fights out there and as a fight fan you want to see them all. And boxing doesn’t have the luxury of a development process. We can’t put a fight on a sound stage and have the guys for 12 seconds and decide whether or not we like it. We have to be judicious about the fights we go about in terms of the quality of the fights and the strategy with which they’re being deployed. So we’ll see in the coming weeks and months how certain fighters and certain fights align with what we’re trying to do.
                      http://r ingtv.craveonline.com/news/412785-peter-nelson-talks-canelo-golovkin-the-biz-hbos-future#.VtCKxVsHHXo.twitter

I'm not sure what Nelson's getting at, but it does indeed sound like he doesn't necessarily want the fight card. Makes no sense, HBO invested alot of money into Walters & Lomachenko and Postol could be an important fight for Crawford unless Crawford's moving up to 147 next.
