Argentine puncher Lucas Matthysse (37-4, 34KOs) could be on the verge of finalizing his next opponent.

The boxer is scheduled to return on May 7th, as part of the HBO Pay-Per-View undercard to the Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs. Amir Khan showdown at the T-Mobile Center in Las Vegas.

Risky fight for both guys. Really want to see how herrera does since he didn't look good against Lundy. But then again not many people do

Once Herrera beats Matthysse he needs to rematch Lundy because he was losing that fight and Lundy should have got the decision after the 5th round accidental headbutt ended the fight.

Other than that, Herrera is an excellent fighter and I'll be rooting for the W in this one.

Wow was sure matthysee would take a tune up fight first to rebuild his confidence before fighting Herrera. Great fight if it gets made. But very risky fight for both guys.

nice this going to be good.lucas is going right back in there against another tough opponent herrera is not a puncher of course but he's a gritty guy who gives everybody hell. I wonder what matty has left after tough fights with ruslan and postol?

Lundy won the first 2 rounds simply because Herrera was in shock from the headbutt. Round 3 and 4 Herrera was out boxing him and taking control of the fight. Fight was tied going into 5th headbutt again from Lundy ends the fight goes to scorecards and you have to score the 5th and Lundy did nothing so I gave it to herrera. Close fight but without headbutts herrera out boxes Lundy easy and nobody wants to see that ugly fight again. Lundy made it ugly and headbutt filled and it backfired on him. Lundy is going to lose to Crawford if herrera wins much rather see him fight Crawford, postol, broner.

I got Lundy 3 rounds, Herrera 2. I enjoyed that fight, it was rough with some good boxing thrown in the mix from both fighters. There were some ugly moments too but it was a pretty intense fight. Lundy was there to win.

I take it you're giving him no chance against Crawford then?

The only fights Lundy lost in my opinion were against Molina Jr and Postol, but he was beating Molina Jr easy for 10 rounds until he got complacent and got caught. Against Postol he got lazy in the mid-rounds and lost some rounds he needed. The other 3 losses on his record I had him winning those fight.

No I don't give him much of a chance against crawford. If he wins and Herrera wins then a rematch makes sense. But if he loses no reason for Herrera to fight him. He will have much better options.
