I'm just curious why Oscar would be brokering "Canelo" sponsorship deals. Golden Boy owns the fights so I could see why Oscar would broker a deal with Tecate to sponsor all of Canelo's fights. But If it's a personal Canelo deal why would a promoter be involved in that? If it's all boxing related ok. But it sounds like Canelo will be doing beer commericals. Maybe I read it wrong.

Golden Boy also got an exclusive deal with Tecate.

You won't see them doing Corona stuff anymore.

You don't see those kinds of deals in boxing often so for Oscar to get this for Canelo and his company is pretty sweet.

I like their plan, which is not to just appeal to boxing fans, but use Canelo to create new fans. Could be really beneficial to boxing, considering how big Heinekin is as a company.

How can Canelo create new fans when he doesn't even promote his fights in English? Corona, Tecate, Modelo, and other Mexican brands are already pretty well known within the Spanish-speaking communities; having Canelo as the face is simply preaching to the choir.

He's nowhere near big enough a name yet, but "JoJo" Diaz would be the far better option. (Danny Garcia would be a good fit too, were he not Puerto Rican and only barely speaking Spanish as a second language).
