Comments Thread For: Porter Sure His Resume Has Better Prepared Him Than Thurman

Shawn Porter is confident his experience has prepared him better than Keith Thurman for their nationally televised welterweight title fight March 12.

The 28-year-old Porter (26-1-1, 16 KOs), of Akron, Ohio, has defeated former welterweight champions Adrien Broner, Paulie Malignaggi and Devon Alexander in three of his past five fights. He also suffered his lone defeat during that stretch, a 12-round majority decision to unbeaten IBF welterweight champ Kell Brook.

I agree with Porter. He's fought the more skilled and tougher competition. If Thurman doesn't catch him early, I see Porter winning by late round tko or Thurman will run and hold for the majority 2nd half of the fight.

Thurman is too intelligent for Porter...Porter's mauling style may get him knocked out or hurt bad this fight..Once he defeats Porter, the fight for the crown is between Thurman and Brook..

I feel like Thurman will cruise the first 4-5 rounds. don't know about after that. I think Porter will make him blow out of his arse by round 9.

I'm not sold on thurman's physical strength (yet). I definitely don't think he's as strong as Brook who was stronger than Porter - Which I think is the best advantage you can have fighting someone like Porter.

A picture is worth a thousand words! This thread has a picture of Porter giving Paulie the business. That's the last time we've seen "That Porter." We know who Paulie is, so 'nuff said. Porter needs to attack early and often, and can't afford to attempt to "outbox" Thurman. In other words, don't think you will get the decision that Canelo got vs. Lara. You're not Canelo! GO HARD OR GO HOME! Good Luck kid!

I like Thurman, he said he was going to hurt Porter. Porter is kind of asking if we believe his resume is good enough. Brook put something on Porter's mind, I guess Porter realizes Broner wasn't a real welter either, and Broner almost KO'd him. Anybody out there besides me think Thurman hits much harder than Broner?

Other than Brook, Porter's resume ain't better than Thurman's. I consider Chaves and Guerrero better than Broner, Bundu is also a good win.
