  • Boxing to introduce Bonus for TKOs and KOs

Apparently, the WBC and WBA will be taking a page from the UFC and introduce bonuses for boxers who win by KO or TKO and possibly reducing a fighter's purse who coasts. They said it'll help liven up boxing and prevent dullards from exploiting the current system by posturing and using their savvy to mislead judges that a punch was thrown. They didn't mention Mayweather by name.

This should have been introduced back when Floyd Entered the Welter weight division and when Ward became a Professional fighter those two guys don't deserve big money fights hell two kindergarten kids throwing blows provide more action than Floyd or Ward

So salty, isn't Ward actually accused of hitting his opponent with everything, including his head?

As with everything in boxing they waited til its beyond obvious something like this would be good for the sport. Boxing is like a mom & pop store for all things horse related back when cars were becoming the new mode of transportation & wondering why they aren't doing as good a business as they used to.

I like this idea, but personally I'd like to see this sorta thing across the board from the 4 rounders up where everyone gets a win bonus & a KO bonus & implemented by commissions or at very least the major promoters & built into the standard contract fighters sign. I think thats the real change to make & not just make it be what will likely be a small change for the guys with belts making bank already. Lets get the guys making thousands more opportunities & breed a better type of fighter for the future. You aren't gonna change the mindset of the guys getting $100K+ very much, but if you can have a guy making $5k earning another $5k for winning &/or stopping a guy the sport is gonna be more fun to watch.

Ward is definitely not boring. He fights on the inside and outside-rough and rugged at times and highly skilled. Sounds like he beat one of your favorite fighters.
