since 2013 Ward hasn't improved his marketability was inactive and became irrelevant, while GGG improved in all aspects. Now GGG focuses on 160 unification and is willing to go north only for a big fight, which isn't Ward. He compromised to 164 on the halfway between mw and smw to call Ward's bluff. Ward ducked. He always has all sorts of excuses: injury, need a tune up, big payday and etc. Ward was never serious about fighting GGG, he knows that is a real threat to him.

If Wade can fight GGG, then Hymen should allow Jacobs to face him as well. I think Jacobs has the power to get GGG's attention and he is a good boxer. Have a feeling he will duck as well though....none of those boys want the GGG hurt train.
Lara does! Stop hyping lil g, and Ward lifted his skirt. When it came to Ward these chumps wanted to stay at 160 at all cost. Now they are talking about fighting Hopkins at 168 for what? I thought all they wanted was belts. This team is a clown.

Lara called him out, and Ward came up with the name lil g. You noticed this bum ass team NEVER comes out and says we will fight Lara at 160 and Ward at 168? You noticed that right? They say they will fight everybody: Froch, Chavez jr, Mayweather, Canelo, Hopkins but for some reason they never try and call out Ward or accept Ward at 168 or Lara at 160. Get off their nutts homie. Lil g is a clown

All that tough talk about forcing Canelo at 160 is just that. He is already making contingency plans for other opponents for the fall after they take another step aside deal.

Why are you so in love with Canelo? Does he pay your rent, be yourself and form an opinion of your own. Sheeps everywhere.

I'm curious. Kovalev has a better resume than GGG. In a lotta people's opinion, Kovalev is a better fighter than GGG. And according to odds, Kovalev is a tougher test for Ward than GGG. I say all that to ask. How is it that Ward is "relevant" enough to fight Kovalev. But, he's not "relevant" enough to fight GGG? Seems kinda irrational and a double standard from my house. Also seems like GGG's fans are kinda hoping Kovalev can knock Ward off so that he's no longer hanging over GGG's head. Because regardless of how much folks like yourself try and downplay Ward. As long as Ward and GGG are undefeated, that's gonna remain a fight that hangs over Gennady's head.

Ward moved up partly because GGG's team wanted the fight at 164. Instead, Ward is going to take on a tougher challenge in Kovalev. He couldn't wait around on GGG forever.

What I don't understand is why was there an offer to fight Ward at 168 when he was coming off shoulder surgery in 2013 but when the fight was discussed again it became 164 catchweight. That seems odd.
164 wasn't an offer. It was thrown out casually as a hypothetical in an email interview between T Loeffler and D Rafael. They knew Ward couldn't and wouldn't do it. They had no interest in Ward at that time as they were looking towards MW unification fights. Any move up to SMW would have to be worth more $ than Ward would bring. And let's say GGG did get a PPV fight with a guy like Froch, he'd probably be willing to get in the ring at a significant size disadvantage knowing he'd be going back down to MW. That's an advantage he wouldn't be willing to give to Ward unless he brought PPV money. GGG's team have been consistent about all of this for years now -- Ward needed to fight to get the GGG fight.

Learn how to read. I didn't say anything about Canelo in my post

Many do not consider Kovalev as skilled and dangerous as GGG. If Ward and GGG keep winning, they hopefully gonna meet in the future. Let GGG unify 160, and test himself at 168, with Degale/groves/Dirrel. I'm sure he can put an upset
