In the Floyd fight, Floyd was/is past his prime - but Manny was beyond washed up. Floyd fought a shell and was content with coasting. To be honest; at this point - neither of them really wanted to get hurt and go for broke. It was an expensive sparring session that they were both okay to participate in.
Look at Pac in the Algieri fight, and now let's see him in Bradley fight. If he looks as great against Bradley as he did vs Algieir, then we will know why he looked "washed up" in the Floyd fight(which I disagree with, he looked pretty competitive).

Also what does it say about boxing as a whole, when two old past prime fighters earned Ring champ status(Mayweather) and #1 contender in their division, as well as #1 P4P vs #3 P4P.

I get it, if Pac had won, all would be well, credentials would have been highlighted. Since Pac lost, the boxers credentials did not count. I get it.

Right on. Manny was out to make a statement that JMM fight and you could clearly tell from the start, he got too careless and it backfired but JMM was getting lit up before the KO. Speaks highly of both fighters abilities (PED BS aside) JMM coming back from adversity like that to shock the world, with Manny laying it all on the line and going out on his shield- no fuqs given.

6 rounds of that was worth much more than the 12 boring rounds against Mayweather. You could argue both fighters were impressive in the JMM fight, not so much(or not AS much) for the Floyd fight.

Floyd deserved his status - no one knocked him from his perch. Manny beating Floyd is a bigger story than the reverse. To be honest, Manny wasn't truly a p4p fighter at that point - it was a mercy ranking from the public because they wished he was up there.

Floyd did what he had to and made it look easy. Last time we saw an even remotely engaged and relentless Manny was in the Marquez fight. Chris Algieri is a decent fighter. He's like a Delvin Rodriguez - good enough to compete and entertain; not good enough though to be exceptional. An in prime Manny may have murdered him. A washed up Manny is still good enough to dismantle a guy who will never be better than good enough to compete.

I don't see how acknowledging the fact that Manny at 37 and a pro for 20 years at the time he fought is past-prime/washed up. He couldn't pull the trigger, he couldn't close the gap, he couldn't adjust. He couldn't be Manny.

To be fair, Floyd was is past-prime...but his past-prime is still better than the rest of the boxing world. Manny could never beat Floyd - but his window was 2008-2010 where he could have. The story would always been about the underdog taking out the HNIC

Well obviously the Marquez fight. Everyone expected it to be competitive but no one expected Marquez to knock Pqcquiao into dreamland. If you knew anything about boxing you expected Mayweather to win. If Mayweather got knocked out by Pacquiao that would be the lasting memory.

If anything the options should have been between Erik Morales' victory over a wild and reckless Pac and the brutal KO Marquez delivered to Pac's legacy.
                This

Manny was a shell of himself with no killer instinct left.......IMO

Floyd's win is something for Flomos to jack off to. It wasn't memorable, it wasn't a masterclass, it was just mehhh.
Don't think Pacquiao was prime then.

Morales' win would be worth having as an option, but i'd probably have voted for Marquez either way.

Or when floyd out pointed manny after the marquez ko
In a fight that had at least 3 swing rounds and that also had both fighters throwing the least amount of punches ever in a fight.

Explain one is more important than the other
I had a similar thread months ago. My conclusion was that Marquez' KO win was written off by Maany's PACt@rds as a fluke! Additionally I was told Marquez foot stomped PAC, tripping him onto a Marquez fist. PAC essentially knocked himself out. PAC fans found comfort in their delusions.

The Floyd loss really hurt the PACnation. PAC had a chance to defeat Floyd, and Marquez at the same time. PAC, armed with a bible was going to defeat Floyd once and for all!! God didn't deliver Floyd into his hands.

Now we are still dealing with a few die hard fans, slow motion videos, etc. Without a KO victory, PAC's faithful fans will always feel cheated.

That fight had some strange things. Blue corner vs red corner, IV, etc.
