Outside of Pacquiao & Canelo, GGG is the biggest draw

Tom Loeffler said GGG is the biggest draw in boxing outside Pacquiao and Canelo. He's sold out MSG, Stubhub, and the Forum fighting unknowns. I agree with Tom. Stateside GGG is the biggest draw outside of Canelo and Pacquiao. Since he's the biggest draw outside of those two why isn't he picking his fights? De La Hoya, Pacquiao, Mayweather, all picked who they wanted to fight. Canelo and Cotto picked who they wanted to fight when they were the 2nd or 3rd biggest draw in the sport. When asked about fightin Lara, Loeffler says Lara isn't marketable enough. But the fight should be sold off of GGG's name not Lara's. If you can sell out MSG fighting Lemieux (who was unknown and previous fight was on Fox Sport 2), you can sell out MSG fighting Lara. Or when he says they haven't received an offer from Jacobs. You're the A-side! Make him an offer! He praised Jacobs saying he's a fighter that could sell tickets. Well send him the offer you sent BJS. Jacobs asked for less. But he'd rather fight a mandatory for the IBF belt. But look at the IBF rakings. Nobody wants to see him fight a Wade, Murata, or Derevyanchenko. The middleweight division is already thin. Why waste time with those fights when GGG needs a quality win. This all the belts talk is just an excuse to justify fighting the Wade's of the world while GGG waits on a paycheck from Canelo. How can his fans not see that? Loeffler has told you over and over again that the quest for belts will be postponed for a big payday in another weight class. He claims the belts will get GGG bigger fights. What bigger fights? The biggest fight is Canelo first and Jacobs second. Jacobs and Canelo aren't even raked by the IBF or WBO. Jacobs isn't ranked by the WBC. Canelo isn't ranked by the WBA.

This belt isn't worth keeping. Fury dropped his belt to fight Klitschko again instead of fighting Glaskov. The IBF enforces their rules so this is the competition we can look forward to GGG fighting in his quest for all the belts.

When you factor in tickets and ratings he is the biggest star in the U.S. behind Canelo and Pacquiao. This is Pac's last fight so he'll be the number 2 name in boxing in the U.S. UFC isn't far behind. McGregor just sold out Vegas in December and he'll be back in March. Silva is fighting at the O2 Arena in London. Jones is fighting at the MGM in April and they have another fight scheduled in Vegas in July. Broner vs. Porter and Kovalev vs. Moammadi flopped in Vegas. Thurman vs. Porter is being held Connecticut. Cotto is fighting at Barclays. MSG used to be his home. GGG hasn't even attempted to sell in Vegas. I remember when the UFC would wait until boxing scheduled their fights before scheduling a fight. Now they're taking over Vegas and going head to head with boxing.

I love the boxing scene in the UK but let's be real. If you aren't a star in America you aren't a worldwide star. That's why Khan left and Lennox Lewis. If you want to be an international star you have to become a star in America first.

The greatest fighter of all time. All he needs is for these COWARD NAMES, cause thats all that they are NAMES/market products, to STEP UP so Gennady can destroy them and claim boxing for eternity.

Well damn, I may have to turn GGG fan by default :-/ The only problem I see for the UFC is that dude Dos Anjos is going to wreck Mcgregor and Rouseys gonna get 1 timed again by Holm when she returns so they can sink real quick. Lets hope the Olympics brings some spark back to boxing

But they'll find another star. They always do. The UFC is like the NFL, the brand is bigger than the stars. The biggest problem for UFC is that they can't fight in New York.

Eh, I'm a big GGG fan but I disagree. Even if we're just talking stateside, Cotto's definitely a much bigger draw. Hell, it's even arguable that Cotto may still be a bigger draw than Canelo.

Even some of the less popular names may be a bigger draw than Golovkin. For example Bradley and JMM are bigger draws. Klitchko, if he decided to fight in the US PPV, would be a bigger draw. Hell, sadly enough even JCC Jr may still be a bigger draw.

After doing some light number crunching (which I'm pretty good at), I do believe HBO when they say his PPV did well financially. But it was still a low-budget event and only drew 150k buys.
