Comments Thread For: Loeffler: Like Canelo, Khan Must Face Golovkin Next or Vacate

New York, NY- When it comes to ticket sales, it’s hard to argue that many can compete with IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs). When he travels from coast to coast, a sold out venue is likely. After being the first non-Puerto Rican boxer to sell out Madison Square Garden in New York, Golovkin treks to the West Coast to familiar grounds, at The Forum in Inglewood, California. His promoter Tom Loeffler, the managing director of K2 Promotions, expects a sell out crowd.

Golovkin vs Khan...I've heard it all. Call the fight "legalized murder".

Loeffler is a worse 'hype' man than Koncz.

I'm not a huge fan of GGG but admire a guy who's really trying to unify his division! I can't understand why GGG gets so much hate for trying to do something that's great for boxing! GGG is only interested in the WBC belt & he's made that abundantly clear! Cotto had the title so he called out Cotto but some so call boxing fans criticized GGG for calling out a so call smaller Cotto. Cotto was the so call lineal 160LB champ! Now Canelo has it & GGG is calling him out next! If Khan pulls of the upset which is not impossible, GGG is letting him know, face him next or vacate! A lot of people are demanding that GGG accept Canelo's demand because he's the A-side but since GGG is the mandatory, he does not have to accept the weight demand from Canelo!

You can say that about most fights! Majority picked Floyd to beat Manny! The majority is picking Manny to defeat Bradley. Also,Canelo over Cotto, Garcia over Guerrero, etc, etc, etc! I just want to see the so called best fighters face each other even if some people feel it's a mismatch! If a fighter feels that way about a guy in his division, get out of the fight game!

Have you seen some of these mandatory's??? He's fighting Wade??? Who is like the 13,14th best MW. Heck he just robbed a 42 year old on the score cards. A short 42 year old journeyman... A ham sandwich could be ranked with the right amount of $$$

I understand a lot of fans would like to see GGG face bigger names but none of those guys are willing to face him! Have you heard the interviews from the other top MW? Saunders claimed he needed to be paid 6 million! REALLY! Jacobs claims he needs to be well compensated! Quillin stated the same thing but ended up getting TKO'd by Jacobs in the first round for $1.5 million! These guys are asking for a substantial amount of money in one fight against GGG, in which it would normally take 3-5 fights to make. Now Canelo is demanding the fight take place at 155lb! So tell me why GGG gets the bulk of the blame for this? It's no secret Canelo will get the lion's share of the money but GGG doesn't have to accept the weight demand!
