At some point a fighters rating should drop if their opposition level isnt up to par with the rating..for instance Kov and Stevenson, Kov has been facing significantly higher caliber opponents than stevenson but stevenson is still rated higher? Stevenson is still the "champ" only bcuz he hasnt faced the "#2" guy in Kov.

I think when it comes to the top 10 in any division they need to reaffirm that rating at least once a yr or lose that rating to someone who has been facing better fighters...one shouldnt be the top guy for 3 yrs while the "#2" guy has been facing better fighters in that same time span.

I like that Cliff gives due respect to the lineal champion in these rankings. He's objective about it, too many others fall into the "who is more popular" style of thinking in order to rank their favorites on top.
