I have to disagree both men have fought the same class of fighters since making their HBO debuts and both are still having big issues getting a top guy in the ring for this year.
Kovalev has fought the better competition thus far and is contracted to fight Ward soon...how does GGG's resume even come close?

Because Bernard Hopkins had the balls to step in the ring with Kovalev and give Kovalev a chance to make his name. If Golovkin got that same chance with Martinez or Cotto, he'd be in great shape. If Hopkins had not fought Kovalev, no one else would have either.

That is not even remotely close to true.

So did Ggg, he was happy to take under 30% vs Chavez. Lemieux got almost purse parity, Saunders offered 3m+. It's not the money dude

B-Hop and Pascal are bigger names than anyone GGG has faced.

Golovkin vs Wade will be more competitive than Kov vs Hopkins and Pascal II.

                    My thoughts exactly.

Kovalev takes every fight with no excuses. Hopkins? Sure, lets do it. Paschal? Sure, lets do it. Paschal wants it again? Sure lets do it. Kovalev just fights and doesn't act like he's too big of a name to fight anybody. Kovalev would've been fought Lara by now if Kovalev was being called out by him. GGG on the other hand, Ward? No financial sense. Lara? He doesn't sell tickets. GGG has an excuse for the better opponents he could've faced.
