Bas Rutten, former MMA fighter, now a coach and a big lifetime boxing fan on the Joe Rogan podcast here.. Just an interesting take, worth a read/listen:
"That's what I teach a lot, double rights, double lefts. The fight that upset me a lot was Mayweather against Pacquiao. Mayweather is hanging against the ropes, Pacquiao unloading, but everything is left, right, left, right.
Now take a Mike Tyson, suddenly he throws in a left uppercut, liver shot. Or a spleen right uppercut. Double right, double left. If you just throw left, right, left right, that's a predictable pattern. But if you mix it up and throw a variety, doubling up with the same arm, it's much more effective.
Pacquiao didn't do it, he got paid 80 million dollars and didn't do it!"

I watch the occasional MMA fight, have done for years, but not too often. This whole discussion is very interesting though between two former MMA fighters so worth listening to the whole show from the beginning.
