I am a long time Pacquiao fan but I never liked him bringing his Catholic religion up all the time. He really did an incredibly ****** thing by making these recent remarks. He had a very nice deal with Nike and all he had to do was keep his views to himself. Instead he has to make his extreme views public and shoot himself in the foot. Nike really had no choice but to drop him. You can make public statements like that and expect to remain a spokesman for a company like Nike.Comment

how is calling gays sub human not gay bashing? its like everytime there is back lash over something like this people take it personally with their religion. keep in mind people used to use the same argument for their belief that blacks were sub human and here to treat whites as well and they used genesis:25 as their reasoning the same exact way they use the bible for their hate of gays today. eventually hiding hate behind a religion doesnt work
that is wat u ppl need to understand..he voiced his opinion..and not harsly.he voiced it in a way non violent communication
im tired of ppl saying we cant say wat we want nowComment

Considering the scathing garbage the most celebrities say and get away with, I think Pacquiao will be just fine. He has a ****storm on him now, but they always blow over. No one is gonna forget years of him being a worldwide icon and hero to his people because he gave his raw opinion on something. You only need to watch a clip of famous Mike Tyson sayings to understand that Manny will be A-OK.
As far as Arum, he made the correct move, even though it feels slimy. He has an entire stable of other guys he has to look out for, so it only made sense for him to agree with Nike's stance. Showing loyalty to Pacquiao could potentially screw over the rest of his fighters, and that would cost him more money, considering that Pacquiao is on his way out of the door. Arum might be a scumbag, but he's a great businessman.Last edited by doom_specialist; 02-17-2016, 11:15 PM.Comment

Listen to me for a second. You, like Manny, have every right to say what you want to say. Be as hateful as you like. Be ****phobic, racist, whatever. It's a free country.
However, you do not have the right to say what you want in public without getting criticized for it.
If you say something people are offended by, they have the right to disagree. They have the right to tell you so. They have the right to disassociate themselves from you.
This is a free country at work. Enjoy it.Comment
