This is partly the consequence of investing too much of your identity in an unrealistic invincible persona. Dying a symbolic death is so painful that you start to fantasise that a physical one would be preferable.

If she's serious and UFC/White say go ahead with the rematch and she gets decimated again.... they better put her on suicide watch. Can't say you didn't see it coming when she openly stated it on TV... unless you don't take suicide seriously

She has only herself to blame. She's the one who said nobody can beat her, she can stop anything, even going so far as to dismiss Holm's offense. That's called believing your own hype and not being grounded.

Nevermind her refusal to touch gloves, which was a pivotal movement in her downfall. It showed to the world that she deserved that beating.

These croc tears aren't fooling me. When she comes out and apologizes to Floyd for all the BS she said to him...when she apologizes to Holm for all the BS she said to her...when she opens up and says, "I'm beatable. It's my job to make sure others can't exploit that"...when she drops Tarverdyan, then I'll have respect for her.

Until then, she's already on the Roy Jones path to self destruction.

We place way too much emphasis on a loss these days. It's just part of the game. There's no shame at all in taking a loss to a very good fighter.

The problem is that some fighters get hyped so much and transcend the sport, crossing over into mainstream culture without even really proving anything against other good fighters. Once they start believing that hype and then get completely outclassed, it's very difficult to handle because the whole world is watching you get exposed and showing everybody you are not what they thought. It must be difficult to handle.

Another example of the pedestal mentality. The fall from grace is a brutal one.

I never thought of losing, but now that it' s happened, the only thing is to do it right. That's my obligation to all the people who believe in me. We all have to take defeats in life.

Holm has been knocked dead before and she bounced back strong. I will respect Rousey if she does the same.

She better hope Tate beats Holm (which is possible) because I don't see Rousey having a shotat beating Holm now seeing how mentally broken she is.
Yeah, I doubt very much that she'll do much more in the fighting world. If she does, I doubt she'll be successful. She's a bully who got b*tch slapped badly. Now she's showing just how weak she is. She doesn't have the strength of character to rise above this.
