Funny thing is, in the US it's not uncommon for Senators to say things like this, none are planning to sell a farewell ppv though.

I don't know why people are shocked. Pacquiao has made his thoughts on gay marriage known for a long time. What did they expect him to say? Something enlightening? This guy isn't exactly the most intellectual guy out there. How he's in congress is beyond me?

Everyone has the freedom to be ignorant. It's when the ignorant become lawmakers and shape public policy that it becomes a public concern.
I've enjoyed watching pac's fights over the years. I even listened to his translated interviews in his own language. The guy's an imbecile. So what? He barely has a kindergarten-level formal education. But he's a celebrity, so he'll soon become a senator.
His ****phobia gets defended on here. That's what I find interesting. NSB edits "curse words" bc they're obviously guided by nonsense, puritanical "values". It's why pieces of **** on here use words like "f@g-g0t" so openly. I'm all for free speech. But why is it that if someone uses such a word, that they don't get banned? Do you know how quickly I'd get banned if I *******ly used the n-word on here?
It's unreal that it's 2016, with so many scientific discoveries, and ignorant people still think that they're somehow different, or better, than another human. We're all primates made of the same stuff (gay/straight, tall/short, light skin/dark skin, etc...).
Evolve, people!

Crazy what a comment like this can do
I say this: if you're so petty as to unfollow a guy because of his beliefs, in the words of CM Punk, you're just as much a phony as the guy you're unfollowing; hypocrites. "He doesn't beliebe what I beliebe, I'm gonna unfollow this guy, that'll show him!!"
Mature people would simply say, "he's got a right to his opinion" and leave it be.
At some point we have to stop virtually crucifying people for opinions.

This is the most attention Pacquiao has gotten since the weeks leading up to his UD loss last May. How the mighty have fallen.
