Comments Thread For: Arum: Chavez Jr. Has A lot of Talent, Lacks The Discipline

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum believes former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (49-2-1, 32KOs) can still be a force in the sport.

Top Rank promoted Chavez's entire career until the boxer decided to go in another direction in the second half of 2014 and signed on with manager/adviser Al Haymon.

No he's just wack. He'll continue to lose to top notch fighter's. Doesn't what weight class he's in.

Chavez Jr. is a limited fighter and to be honest a one trick pony. He has very good power but not much else.

Poor training habits and just poor habits in general have made him the fighter he is today. I will say this he has one hell of a manager because about 90% of promoters wouldn't pay him what Al is. So good for the Chavez team on that part.

He got seriously exposed at 175. He made a living off of beating the smaller guys at 160. JCC has clearly always been a natural light heavyweight. Once he fought someone his own size, his power and chin were obsolete. Don't be surprised if he TRYS to drop to 168. He knows he can't win without that size advantage.

The only time Chavez and the word talent should be in the same sentence is after some kind of eating contest. #makeweight

Everyone agrees he lacks discipline he's a lazy spoiled brat. But has a lot of talent? Not so sure, from a skills standpoint can't think of one thing he does great or above avg. His dad's last name opened doors for him not his talent. He was just insanely big for the guys he fought so he had moderate success. Now the fat boy can't even make 168 and is exposed with his limited skills.
