We should all say 'Thank you Tyson Fury'

Love him or hate him Tyson Fury has freed the heavyweight division by defeating the man that no one could for a decade. The furious one's defeat of Klitschko has now given other fighters opportunitys they may never have been given. Now the division is truly exiting for the first time since the days of Lewis, Holyfield and Tyson. I've said it before and I'll say again what we should ALL say, to the real heavyweight champion and fighter of 2015....

    Thank You Tyson Fury

I never had a problem with Wlad being the true champion who nobody could beat for 10 years. He was a good champion who gave all worthy challengers a title shot in a timely manner. He trained hard enough and was good enough to beat all comers so he deserved to be the champ. Hopkins was the unbeatable middleweight champ for 10 years and like Wlad he avoided no worthy challenger and deserved to be the champion. I am a fan of both Wlad and Hopkins. They were good enough to stay unbeaten against the best challengers so good for them. They deserved to be champions. If Fury proves to be as good a champion as Wlad was over the next year or so I will thank him then.

Those guys would of fought each other regardless. The only title 'Freed' was the IBF when they stripped Fury and Wilder captured the WBC without being given anything.

Wilder is a titlist not a champion. Fury is the man, the only, that's a fact. Wilder is just a titlist just like Martin, soon to be Joshua.

Yeah, he's definitely injected some life into the division, that's for sure. I love that the heavyweight landscape has changed from one insurmountable fighter at the heart of things, to several different challengers all vying for that number one spot. Fury's a great fighter, but beating Wlad isn't enough to legitimise him in many people's eyes, which makes fights with the likes of Wilder and Joshua so interesting. I love that uncertainty.

The Furious One definitely deserves the most credit for what is going on in the heavyweight division right now.
