Nothing beats the 90s for me, before the loudness wars post DrumnBass digital compression garbage now Dubstep bla bla whatever. For me NYC was always about meeting people from around the world dancing to real good sexy house music. Salsa clubs and PR, Cuban, and Dominican women my god that's a whole different chapter in itself.

Old rave scenes I grew up in, before it was outlawed in the states, yet still strong in Europe. I always thought the European and Brit side of electronic music scene was never on par to the West Side of the world. I blame the Germans and a bit of the Japanese creating those Euro or Trance presets in workstations that producers literally just printed to vinyl.

        Seen it all man.
M8 now we're talking....early techno was Detroit true...by electronic music was created in Europe ....even kraftwerk way back.....over in the states you have Derrick Carter...frankie knuckles and Richie hawtin...even deep dish was american....but here it was digweed and sasha and there pretty much recognised as the gods of electronic music.....I know David morales also...I was knobbing this bird who was seeing him a few years back.......Detroit was more industrial ......I'll give you that...but I don't listen to EDM at all....the music I play in my sets are from real artists and its never commercial .....sounds like there's abit more to than meets the eye.....I know Brazilian women lol

That's debatable... but I know what you mean. My older brother got me into a lot YMO and Giorgio Moroder that were doing hotter stuff than Kraftwerk in their earlier days. What Atkins states about Kraftwerk was the more minimal and stagnant approach of underground music making.

Because Disco in itself started implementing synths is why electronic via house or techno about origins is highly debatable. For me Moroder is the creme of the crop. He's the whole reason for Daft Punk. I met Daft Punk in Chicago back in 96, and those guys were buying all of Dj Sneak's records because at the time Sneak (Chicago DJ) was the MPC2000 king of the world! This is why Daft Punk initially started the sampling and copying of Sneak. They've said it themselves. Good times. I also know Green Velvet personally who's like the post Prince of electronic black Americana.

Good times. =) Here's one of the first records I bought trying to copy my big brother.

We had a radio DJ here back in the day called The Electrcfying MoJo. Back when radio DJ's still had a little freedom to play what they wanted to play. He had full freedom to play whatever he wanted to play. He was playing Prince and Kraftwerk when nobody around here even knew who they were. Juan Atkins and Derrick May were influenced heavily by him He was the first on to play Atkins music. The man had an ear for good music. I still listen to old youtube videos of his show.

UNDERWORLD and ORBITAL were formed mid to late 80's as well mate....but then u look at early SIMPLE MINDS who's theme for great cities is one of the most sampled tracks of all time...and that was 1981......groundbreaking music and that's always been my kind of style....OMD,HUMAN LEAGUE and they influenced by can and LA Düsseldorf and then kraftwerk came on the scene....that's were the MOOG which was the first synthesiser introduced......were friends for life now lol
