Anthony Joshua the new Lennox Lewis?

So, Joshua gets to take on Martin for the IBF strap. Woo. Hoo.

This reminds me of the '90s when Lewis was awarded the WBC title and so the titles were split up between the US and the UK.

Of course, now it will be the US with one and the UK with the rest.

Either way, the title remains split up and we don't have one champion which is a shame.

I wish Klitschko would have fought Wilder first and at least it would be unified for once.

    But that's boxing.

    Splitting hairs yet again.

    And again.

    And again.

Bowe ducked Lewis after winning the title to fight tomato cans until the rematch with Holyfield. He'd signed up to fight Holyfield and the winner of Ruddock Lewis but he didn't want any part of Lennox he preferred to milk the title for all its worth. The WBC in this case were right.

Oh I realize that. It wasn't Lewis's fault. I just hate the way politics interfere all the time. Clearly, the IBF wanted to crown a new champion just to set this up. They are fighting just three months after Martin was crowned. Heck, most heavyweight champions only defend every six months at the most.

Im saying Lennox wouldnt have dominated the top guys in his 16th fight. He had some serious flaws until he got with Manny. I dont remember how many fights he had when he got sparked by Oliver McCall but if I remember right it was around 24 or so. I think Joshua isnt far off of that Lewis right now. He obviously has some work to do but I think this fight with Martin is right on time but Im also not one of these guys who immediately rights someone off if they lose a fight.

I also am rooting for AJ.

I use to really dislike Lewis by the way but Ive come to respect what he brought after suffering through the last 12-13 years.

I think he will be an improved version of Lewis ,overall skills and possibly more power equals danger . In this era he will need it bc there are no cake walks here despite what most think todays Super heavies are no walk in the park and a lot of talent that may find irts way to him!

Parker/ Ortiz / Povetkin / Fury / Wilder / Klitchko / Arias / Haye /Pulev/ Martin / Dong / Whyte/ Morrison /P. Fury / off the top of my head theres quite a few other undefeatted guys around the corner i just cant remember the names one was a 6'7 250 pound olympic gold medalist ....this division is far from weak id like to see all these guys fight each other down the road,Wlad obviously on borrowed time needs the win over Fury.

He still would have enough for the fighters in the division today....yes he had flaws but he also had tremendous ability....just watch him against razor ruddock or Gary mason then you can comment .....only fighter to drop Tony tucker at that stage, ...he was inconsistent and it was with steward that he fixed all his flaws but to say Lennox was not a good fighter even back in 1992 is wrong and uneducated .....a Tyson fury who has no punch...who does his silly jiggle and wiggle and arms by his side was never good enough to beat a Lewis that night against ruddock....never...know ur history a bit better fella
