William Hill, the UK's leading bookmakers, have released their odds for the highly anticipated IBF world title fight between Anthony Joshua and Charles Martin.

The bookies make Anthony Joshua, the challenger, their 1/7 favourite to win the fight. Charles Martin, who beat Vyacheslav Glazkov to win the world title in his last fight, is rated a 9/2 shot to defend his belt – with the draw is available at 33/1.

Because the oddsmakers know that Martin sucks, he's a joke, and he's a paper champion.

For comparison sake, David Haye and Tyson Fury are very small underdogs against Anthony Joshua currently. So small that the fights are basically 50/50. You can check these on oddschecker. Whether your think Joshua is being oversold by the oddsmakers is up for discussion, but clearly they think he's the real deal.

For them to open up Martin as a 7-1 underdog really tells you what they think of Martin.

Keep in mind, this is just the opening line. This could go up as high as 11-1, which I'm expecting.

That's a bit wide in my opinion, but no surprise at AJ being the favorite

Even thought Martin was the IBF rank #3 and got a shot at the belt , He was the #43 rank world wide heavyweight too before winning the belt

I wouldn't go that far, Martin got lucky.

I just think it's a travesty that a fighter like Charles Martin holds a share of the HW title. He's one of the worst, most undeserving HW champions I've ever seen. But it looks like his time has run out.

                  Against Martin? Doubtful.

Joshua has serious issues - i.e. his reluctance to box behind the jab; stamina; boxing on the backfoot - but Martin constitutes no real threat.

The danger for Joshua is the IBF. They're one of the few governing bodies that enforce mandatories.

Joshua is still very sloppy defensively and Martin can counter well.
