Comments Thread For: Barrera Advised By Manager To Go All Out With Andre Ward

Luis Molina, manager of light heavyweight contender Sullivan Barrera (17-0, 12 KO), has advised his fighter to go all out on March 26th when he steps in the ring with one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, former super middleweight king Andre Ward (28-0, 15 KO).

If Barrera's camp is serious in what they've tried to put out there, Ward stops him late (not sure if the power carries up to 175, but Sanchez/ref is likely going to have to save Barrera from being ruined).

Plan on being in the building on fight night (the top two fights for the card, so far, are already quality); if the tickets move well for Oracle, and Ward gets placed as the co-feature on Cotto's likely June fight in New York, Kovalev-Ward may end up local too.

HBO deal completed, with three title around his waist(and no owed mandatories), Ward/Roc Nation get themselves to the open market (Ward-Stevenson, for all of the belts, being that next major fight) and see what the market is willing to pay.

I like Andre Ward, and respect his skills, but I have a bad feeling about this one. I think Ward wins, but not in spectacular fashion, then says he's going back to 168 to pursue a fight with Golovkin.

If Ward makes a statement on Barrera, it's going to really hype up the Kovalev showdown. But if he struggles badly, it might kill the Kovalev fight.

I find it hard to imagine Ward will stop B, but I suppose with a following wind...

Common Andre Ward stoppage involves a cut caused by a headbutt that's ruled by the ref as a cut due to a punch. The cut then worsens and the fight is stopped. See Andy Kolle and even the Paul Smith fight.

How many examples of that can you point to, since its so common?

Come on guys Barrera ist just not good enough to beat Ward. i watched a few fight from him and.....just no. But Kovalev gets the job done. I also think Barrera is no 12 round fighter and i think he will get verry tired in the second half of the fight. Yes barrera is from cuba but he is not as talented and skillful as most other cubans.
