Comments Thread For: Arum Wonders if Amir Khan Can Pull Off a Super Bowl Upset

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is on the sidelines this coming May, when Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs) will defend his WBC middleweight championship against British fighter Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs).

I give Khan props for taking he fight but this will be an easy fight for Canelo. If you don't have the power or size to walk Canelo back or disrupt his timing you are not going to have a lot of success. Khan can talk about Floyd all he wants but he doesn't have that type of timing or instincts that even an older Floyd had. Khan takes shots to give them and that will be his downfall. I predict a mid round KO in this one.

Con can't take a welter weights punch. alvared is going to beat him bad for 3 or 4 rounds and the ref will stop it

Im gonna put down $300 on Khan & see what happens lol.... Boxing and its Decisions have been super weird lately.... Who better stage a controversial upset than with AL Haymons fighter? Anything to postpone the GGG Fight lol

Its boxing so anything is possible but its highly unlikely Khan can steal it , I see Canelo walking him down and stopping him around 7-10 .

I see this fight possibly going down like Sugar Ray Leonard vs Marvin Hagler. If Trout didn't fight so respectful of Canelo, he could have very easily won the decision. Khan will have to use his speed (jab, right-left) and get out....tie up when necessary and build up an early lead. His conditioning usually fails him late and he's gonna have to defend Canelo's body punching.

I might drop a few quid on Khan. Won't be much money to be made with Canelo.
