Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder is on a Mission To 'Beat Povetkin, Unify All Titles'

By Jake Donovan - As talks progress and time marches on, Deontay Wilder is forced to play the waiting game. In the meantime, he wants to make one thing perfectly clear about his next career move.

"I want to fight Alexander Povetkin, ASAP," Wilder (36-0, 35KOs) emphatically stated to BoxingScene.com. "For those who don’t understand, ASAP is as soon as possible. I’m not dumping my belt, I’m not looking for any other fight. Whatever date opens up next, that’s when I want to defend my title against Povetkin."

Agreed but the title of article should say Deontay Wilder is on a mission to fight all the bums he can, not unify all titles. Because if he fights Povetkin, it's only cause he has to, to satisfy the WBC. BUM SQUAD! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actions speak louder than words though. I don't know for certain the truth behind the delays, but its fact Wilder has had 3 awful voluntary defences, and has struggled quite badly in 2 of them.

A win over Povetkin would make him the clear contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, but it won't be easy.

No doubt in my mind Wilder will face Povetkin next. And Wilder will win this fight

I just hope Povetkin is held in the same high regard AFTER Wilder beats the brakes off of him, but as history tells us, Povetkin will instantly be regarded as old/overrated. Rooting for Wilder to prove the haters wrong. #Unified #Undisputed
