what happened to floyds work rate?

im checking out his old fights at lightweight and he was active throwing a lot of shots per rounds where in recent performances he only averages maybe 30-40 punches a round?

does he lack fitness or something

    what the deal

could he have fought guys like he did against mosley, guerrero at 30 punches per round against guys at light weght?

Brittle hands and as he got older he had to preserve energy.

His workrate was good vs Cotto, like 700 punches.

he just changed his style, he wasn't old vs Hoya or Marquez or Mosley.

He got old and modified his style. He is very fit and trains extremely hard. He can certainly throw many more punches per round if he wants to or needs to. I think he averaged about 60 punches per round in the Cotto fight without getting that tired.

He wanted to be that kind of fighter, but breaking your brittle hands every other fight will change your mind pretty quickly, especially when you have to switch to southpaw stance just to survive and have to take a knee, all because your broke your hand on your opponent's head while unloading.

He throws one punch at a time in order to avoid throwing combos, he avoids combos in order to protect his hands.

He got old, and guys at 147 hit a lot harder than the guys at 130. He had to be a little more cautious
