  • Comments Thread For: Froch: I Think About a Comeback Every Day, But I'm Realistic

Carl Froch has reiterated his desire to remain retired from the boxing ring and is instead planning on pursuing a career as an actor.

The four-time super-middleweight world champion last fought in May 2014 when he defeated George Groves at Wembley Stadium, and despite frequently speaking of his temptation to make a comeback he has been taking lessons in how to act.

I know it's got to be tough but just stay away from the ring. He had a great career. Only come back if it's because Calzaghe agrees to also come back and fight you.

Froch has been retired for just over a year and a half.

Calzaghe has been retired for just under 7 and a half.

Froch could realistically make a come back.

          Calzaghe has no chance.

Froch could come back to SMW and still be a force there for sure. Maybe even the best there if he hasn't lost that much of a step. That said, he beat nearly everyone worth beating at 168 during his era, retired with tons of money in the bank, his brain intact, a damned hot wife, and children. He has what most fighters would actually want when exiting the fight game.

My dad told me that a real man will do what he wants to do. Regardless of his obligations, if his gut tells him something he will follow it, even if it means sacrificing certain luxuries that he has become accustomed to. If Carl Froch chose to sacrifice spending time with his family and enjoying the fruits of his labor to go back into the trenches, I for one would be highly appreciative.

He shouldn't come back because of interviews like this, his heart isn't in the sport, he had a great record and could be a hall of famer one day. No shame in losing to Ward and he avenged the loss to Kessler. Probably could still come back and win a few more but unless it's Jack or Chavez Jnr in Vegas I would stick to acting.

Loeffler is on the phone with Hearn right now. Froch's inactivity isn't a concern.

LOL it would not have been a legitimate interview without that statement
