Why do people think Thomas Hearns would beat Floyd so easily?

I don't think it would be an easy win for Hearns. Mayweather might win some rounds and get in some good punches. I think Hearns would probably win by KO when he landed his straight right clean and hard. If you want to see the hardest, fastest straight right of them all then watch the punch Hearns threw to KO iron jawed Duran. If the fight went the full distance then Hearn's great jab, his reach, speed, skill and power should have him comfortably ahead on points. Mayweather is a great fighter so I doubt it would be easy for Hearns but he should win it.

Oh yeah, and even if Hearns won by KO -- it definitely wouldn't be "easy." Floyd is way too good for anybody to beat him easily. But...Hearns had the combination of height, reach, power and boxing ability that Floyd never faced before. That's for sure.

Because he has size, skill, and power that would be a nightmare for Mayweather. Hearns is incredibly difficult to outbox, and Mayweather at welterweight does not have the same seek and destroy ability that he did at lower weights, which is a bad thing since Hearns basically would force him into that role. Hearns may not destroy him in 2 rounds, but he would be a horrific match up for Floyd.
