Just losing to Kell Brook on such a huge scale fight in the UK would be extremely damaging to his reputation. Losing to Canelo is no big deal. Same reason he wanted Manny and Floyd. He wants the money but he also wants the factor of losing not really being a big deal due to who he's fighting.

He would make a lot more money fighting Brook than Canelo. They reckon Khan would have earned more than Froch in the Groves rematch, somewhere around £13m. Khan knows that Brook fight is there to cash out on even more no matter what happens with Canelo.

Smart business move. He is a guy who will fight anyone but a guy who is afraid incase he loses to Brook. Im sure he believes he can beat Brook, but the "what if" factor of losing is too big a risk right now when he can make big money elsewhere i.e Canelo, with not much to lose. Nobody could convince me otherwise.

You're missing the point. I said he has too much to lose by losing to Brook. I don't think he's afraid to fight anybody. Canelo is the smart option. What does he have to lose against Canelo? yes he might lose the fight but so what, he's a big underdog and if he loses it's not going to put a dent in his credibility. So basically he's getting paid well for a fight that if he loses nobody will care and if we won, his stock would be huge. He could still fight Brook after that.

So he has everything to gain from fighting Canelo. All he can lose is the fight itself which nobody really expects him to win anyway.

Losing to Brook probably shuts the door on a lot of future opportunities, his stock would be low. But by fighting Canelo in a fight where his credibility won't take much of a hit if he loses, he's keeping the door open for a future Brook clash. So it's the difference between 1 big payday, or 2.

If you know anything about business, then you would know that you make the smartest moves that leave optimum possibilities and very little damage if it doesn't work out. That's all Khan's team has done here. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it's very smart. The Brook fight will happen, but right now it's not worth the risk of losing to him when you can make money elsewhere and have that fight to come back to when it's time to take the risk. I don't mean the risk of physically trading punches with him, just the risk of the possibility anything can happen and what if Brook wins, which is quite a possibility.

These are smart business men making the moves, just because the fighter has heart and would fight anyone, their business team still has to look at the damage it does to future business incase of a loss. It's not just about getting in and busting heads.

If Khan beats Canelo, he'll defend against GGG at 155. I think after Sanchez and GGG give it some thought, they'll probably go down to 155 for Khan because they know Khan just came up 8 pounds from 147 so a catchweight would make it a fair fight in this case, instead of making him come up another 5 pounds to the full 160. Khan wins, the Khan vs GGG fight will happen.
