Khan has bigger balls than Mayweather he facing a Canelo who not weight drained and he's not using steroids to beat Canelo

Steroids can make your rate increase by 2x or 3x, so he's gonna be ok.The difference in size is significant and it can't be made up by training in the time he has.
Canelo at weigh in 155
Khan's last fight at weigh in 147
Weight difference = 8 pounds
This is after flushed out of water to make weight so we can assume this is lean muscle
There are real limits on how fast it is possible to build muscle.
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/maki2.htm
"Hypertrophy of the muscle complex has, so far, been shown to be controlled by what is known as protein turnover (the breakdown of damaged muscle proteins and creation of new and stronger ones). This process takes time"
"In the muscles, protein turnover rate occurs approximately every 180 days (6 months). This lends even more support to the observation that the turnover rate limits the natural body (of the non drug-using athlete, bodybuilder) in building muscle quickly."
"Keep in mind that it's physiologically impossible to gain more than one pound of lean muscle per week. For most weight-gainers, half a pound per week would be an even more realistic goal, because they reach their genetic limit. Remember that gaining muscle is a long-term project and not something that can be simply turned on."
Bear in mind that for Khan his training cannot be focused entirely on gaining muscle. He has to work on his cardio and his technique as well. Building max muscle requires a lot of rest.
Hence I don't believe Khan can put on 7 pounds of lean muscle in the time. He may come in heavier than you think but that will be additional fat and water.
"Those who scoff at this and continue to believe they've gained super size over such a short period forget, as suggested earlier, that much of the increased body weight is largely due to increased body fat stores, glycogen and water."
When Canelo weighs in at 155 he will be lean and dehydrated. Khan won't be. He will likely be short around 4 or 5 pounds of lean muscle and that translates into a lot more weight on fight night.
Nobody can know whether his very real skills will carry him through (I very much doubt it) but Khan is going to be at a significant weight and strength disadvantage on fight night and no amount of training is going to make that up no matter who tells you it will.Comment

Was and still should be a concern.... Sometimes I wonder if Khan just has big ol' balls or just extremely nieve.Comment

I dont like Amir Khan but I do see how his style can cause issues for Alvarez. Im sure he is watching the Floyd fight over and over. While there are levels to boxing Khan does have the skillset to make this interesting.
Most knockdowns tkos or kayos Khan has suffered is when the opponent throws with him. Canelo needs to do that. Canelo also had a lot of inactivity vs Cotto where he should have dominated and pulled away but never did.
Mayweathers speed troubled Nelo, Khans will do the same but Khan actually throws combos. In and out, use a jab and lateral movement and he can win. Canelo sucks at cutting the ring off and he is awful when facing guys with any type of movement.
Im not saying Khan wins, but I dont think Canelo will walk through him.Comment

I thought that was an odd statement the second I read it as well.
Major props to Kahn and his team for taking this fight. Don't be afraid to be great!
I disagree with any jmm/floyd comparison. Removing luck from any equation, a fighter needs a niche, something he does better in order to have a chance. JMM's niche was strength and power, which was all negated the second Floyd came in heavy.
however, while Kahn now has a deeper disadvantage, he hangs on to his speed niche. Hence, as slight as it may be, he has a chance.Last edited by pvj; 02-07-2016, 11:14 AM.Comment

Many/Manny could have fought Canelo, but khan is going to do so. I feel ****** because I talked big crap about Khan. I hated Khan. I laughed at him for being stopped in previous wars. But, Amir Khan has shown heart & nuts, big guts & nuts to take on the Irish Mexican. Many/Manny could have, but so called great decided on a painless retirement.
Doesn't matter how it turns out, right now, stop time if you will, Khan has bigger nuts than Fanny PACMAN. Manny could have fought Canelo instead of Bradley, nobody was stopping PAC from picking a warrior. Nobody....Nobody but Arum, and his management team!
Khan is making decisions that impress fight fans. Where is the CW King??? He could have hired Ariza for his final battle. Khan has showed up a lot of frauds with this move, even in slow motion, especially in slow motion.

Canelo-Khan is a joke of a fight. And not only is it a joke, but Khan's health is being risked for the sake of exposure and a payday. Sure, one could argue that Khan brought this upon himself by sitting around waiting for Mayweather and Pacquiao instead of continuing to fight, but this is no solution to that problem. This is possibly the end of Khan's career.
I'm shocked that some people are supporting this, including Dan Rafael. How can anyone not see that this is a total beat-down of a mismatch? Khan will get knocked out early into the fight, and it won't leave a good taste in anyone's mouth. It was one thing to hype Khan into being the sacrificial lamb for either Mayweather or Pacquiao (both somewhat around the same size as Khan), but this is on another level. Khan has done nothing to even imagine that he could handle Canelo for 12 rounds. If anything, he's been knocked out by much smaller fighters. What is this? I know that Khan has been hyped for the sake of the hypothetical Mayweather-Pacquiao match-ups, but anyone who's not biased should be able to clearly see that he's not anywhere near that level. You add in the huge advantages Canelo has, and this is torture.
Even if Canelo comes in completely unprepared for Khan, all it would result in is a longer-lasting beat-down. Some may try to save face by indicating that Khan landed more punches in one round or another, but there is no covering this travesty.Comment
